New York Times Declares Louisiana Racist

I nearly choked on my coffee when I read this horribly written piece today.

THIS IS CLASSIC

Along the Atlantic Coast, parts of the “suburban South,” notably Virginia and North Carolina, made history last week in breaking from their Confederate past and supporting Mr. Obama. Those states have experienced an influx of better educated and more prosperous voters in recent years, pointing them in a different political direction than states farther west, like Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, and Appalachian sections of Kentucky and Tennessee.

The self-righteous bs factor is getting frighteningly high.

Let me say as to Louisiana Obama lost Catholic voters. The pro-life movement in South Louisiana is very strong in Catholic circles and is informed. A combination of that, the Energy issue, and also issues that are cultural (like GUNS) is more likely to explain Obama dip in overall percentage compared to 2004 than racism. Does racism exist? Sure but issues like the above are far more likely to explain Obama's performance versus Kerry in Louisiana. In reality we are just talking about a slippage of a just a few points for the Dems versus their 2004 numbers

Further Louisiana has a very active in the political sense Pentecostal population that is aligned at times with the Assembly of God. The bashing of Palin and her religious beliefs (Does she speak in Tongues) no doubt was not helpful to Obama in this demographic that at times is very Democrat leaning.

As for my Arkansas neighbors I guess the Times missed the memo on the huge population migration to Arkansas particularly in the Northwest. That area is booming and is not exactly dogpatch.

Does this mean that Floridians are not racist, either??? LOL

How about the fact Louisiana has an Indian American, Catholic convert, as Governor???

I know that is all so missing from the article . OR the fact that in some of the most overwhelming Conservative White areas of baton ROughe they relected a Black mayor while voting in droves against Obama
