I posted on this last week at Is The Catholic In Alliance for the Common Good a New Kind of Catholic Politics?
This group promises to lead United States Catholics past a "Religion in public life has often been very narrow and partisan". and "to create a new witness for what faith can be in the public square," and a politics that is not " about single-issue politics or divisive wedge issues." ...
The Conference was held in Philadelphia. How fitting the City of Brotherly Love. I suspect Catholics will remember this day. In fact in a sense will Philadelphia be recalled as the New Jerusalem?
I mean reading this report from the conference I just feel how we are getting past partisanship and wedge issues and we can all be authentic Catholics in the public square!! Ge see this first hand account at Inside Catholic from someone that was there. I am so jazzed that we are finally moving past narrow partisan interest and wedge issues and the politics of destruction toward an authentic Catholic viewpoint as we head into the 08 elections. And no doubt the participants of the Catholic Convention of the Common Good will be leading in the way forging honest discussion , dialogue that is not biased in the least or has a pre ordained conclusion.
Oh Happy Day!!!
Tip of the Hat to Pro Ecclesia that has his thoughts on it here
