Why Do American Jews Take Many Conservative Christians For Granted?

Two observations are made in two different posts at Contentions that are I guess is reality over the current USA /Israel diplomatic crisis.

From RE: This Is Not Progress-

.....But Emanuele, you are certainly correct that the proof will be at the ballot box and in the support afforded to Obama and those in his party who condone (either overtly or not) this newest line of attack. Is there a point at which American Jews cry “Enough!”? The Obami clearly think this is a cost-free gambit for them, domestically. We’ll have to see whether they are right.

and from This Is Not Progress

Jennifer, I may be wrong, but in the mounting fury of the Obama administration against Israel, the AIPAC factor will not loom that large after all. We all remember former Secretary of State’s James Baker famous quip: “F— the Jews, they didn’t vote for us.”
It looks to me that the current administration’s Israel policy is based on a variant of that quip—namely, “F— the Jews, they’ll vote for us anyway
.”

I guess we shall see.

There is a pretty big Jewish guy on the Washington Post's On Faith page that is a liberal but always said George W Bush was a great friend to Israel. However this never seemed to produce votes.

I think the problem is this. They know as to the GOP that Evangelicals and their love for Israel has the votes in the bag for supporting Israel. Therefore they can do what they want and never really reward GOP folks that support Israel. So we have a weird dynamic of where very Liberal Jews that support Israel need Evangelicals but these same people often mock evangelicals in their publications.

It is very frustrating. So the Obama administration can perhaps take a wrong headed course on this but liberal Jews can remain loyal to party because they know conservative Christians in the GOP will take up the slack.

Perhaps I am reading this dynamic wrong but is indeed what it appears at times.
