What the Washington Post is Missing on Rep. Artur Davis Health Care Vote Story

Oh Dear.

I suspect the Washington Post does not know a alot about Alabama in their carton version of life outside the beltway.

Now I agree besides EWTN and Gulf Shores(the redneck Rivera) there are downfalls to Bama. Especially those weird University of Alabama and Auburn folks. Still the Washington Post could get a little bit more sophisticated.

See Back in Black

Why do we assume that all black folks are in love with this Health Care law. For the small black business owner (that is crucial in these communities) I suspect they are not. It appears that Davis's "Apostasy" is not affecting his standing with black democrat primary voters.

Is that not a more interesting story line we should explore?

i used to live just outside his district. probably the only majority D district in Alabama. pretty sure a poll would show his constituents support heath care reform.

but, like the post says, he's running for governor. hence, he needs to appease the rest of alabama, which strongly opposes hcr.

personally, he's lost a lot of my respect over the years. seems to have moved from a man of integrity to just another cynical flip flopping politician.

You are perhaps right. I don't know a lot about his Dem Primary opponent and black voters could be making a practical choice on giving him a pass
