Rev. Jim Wallis Stupid Boycott Against Glen Beck (Updated)

I think I have been pretty clear on this blog that I found Glen Beck's comments on social justice silly.

However there appeared to be some back and forth going on between Wallis and Beck that might have been productive. Now Wallis has done the boycott card which I think will short circuit any productive discussion. Hey I understand boycotts!!! But they lose their power if they are the first line of opposition.

Lesson!! Wallis is as much as a poltical hack as Beck. Of course as we take our respective sides this will be ignored.

Updated- See Glen Beck Goes Off the Deep End (Talks Coughlin and Social Justice)

It appears that Beck is sort of hinting at something for Monday. I am not sure if he is about to put a target on Wallis (which I think Wallis wants to be honest) but if he does this will get nasty. So if Wallis want to do a boycott then well fine.

What is frustrating about this is that the people that we shall see talking about Catholic Social Justice / Social Justice period or defending it will come from just the liberal faction.

Is the casual way you breeze over the "social & economic justice" terminology based in ignorance or subterfuge? If you are unaware of the history and evolution of these terms perhaps you should do a little reading. God wants us to help out those unable to help themselves. He does not favor us sending our money to the government to redistribute it for us.

Patti is right, and I understand what Glen Beck was getting at. As he said today, Americans don't need lessons on how to be charitable. Tell the government to leave our money alone, and we will be charitable on our own. Government social assistance should be measured to those who cannot help themselves and not put us into bankruptcy. This current administration has already put us and future generations at the edge of the cliff. You can watch your pocketbook and freedoms disappear into hell's fire over the next three years! And if you get sick, God help you as you try to claim assistance and medicine from the bureaucrats.

Ahahaha, sorry but that is the most laughable line I've heard in a long time. Social justice isn't about "charity", it's about the MINIMUM standard for each living individual. I would like to see a poll on how many people are actually "charitable" if lef tto their own devices.

And the fact that this current administration is trying to get us universal healthcare so that you DON'T have to crawl through the many levels of bureaucracy makes the THE administration that puts us at the edge of the cliff? Are you trying to say that you would rather hand your money over to insurance companies and allow them to negotiate the terms and condition of what sort of care you should receive?

Just the blatant ignorance of some people. My god.
