Oh No!! Democrat Attorney General of Louisiana Will Challenge Health Care Bill

A little reading to start this post. See ObamaCare is Politically Vulnerable

I think we shall be seeing this on a very bi partisan level at the States. In Louisiana a very old school Democrat who is my Attorney General is about to enter the fight. See Caldwell to fight health care package

Now let me say Caldwell is one of my favorite Dems in Louisiana. He was a District Attorney in the wild regions of North East Louisiana plus a ELVIS impersonator. Anyone who can be DA of East Carroll Parish plus manage to impersonate Elvis and maintain his sanity is one cool dude. He is also corrupt as anything but in a charming Louisiana way.

Buddy is tight with the DEM establishment to say the least in Louisiana.

Now what does this mean? Why is he doing this? Because as the above article gives a hint OBAMACARE means huge everyday budget difficulties to the States including little ole Louisiana that right now does not need any more budget woes.

The impact on the STATES and the STATE budgets is what has been missed in D.C. and by the media. Now when budgets have to be cut and services eliminated to pay for the Health Care bill everyone from the Governor down to some redneck Legislator knows their hide is on the line. I don't expect Obama to come on down in AirForce One to little ole Rapides parish and explain these troubles away.

State elected folks are going to have to say "I am sorry but to pay for our obligations under the Health Care Bill we will have to cut LSU by 50 million dollars and by the way I am sorry your local road repairs are being delayed 4 or 5 years". These folks know that Obama will not be there to save them from the anger of the voters who will not understand why the potholes are not being repaired.

This is what has been missed. A huge amount of political pressure to get rid of this will come from State politicos that are facing the wrath of the voters wondering why they are paying more taxes but seeing less.

Sadly for Nancy Pelosi Democrat state elected officials from California to New York to Louisiana and everywhere in between don't give a hill of beans what she wants. She can come on down here and explain why the local VO -Tech is having to be closed down to meet the the new budget requirements in their view.

The whole States suing is being portrayed as some STATE RIGHTS ISSUE. Well it might be some of that. But in reality it is how in the heck are going to pay for this issue. That is one of crucial weak links in this bill and why a good bit of it might be repealed.

At the end of the day even Mary Landrieu will have to listen to these folks. The democrat friendly Sheriffs and Parish Courthouse crowd are crucial to her. She just cannot ignore their concerns.
