The Holy Father has given us two great ENCYCLICAL LETTERS that I think puts forth the proper understanding of "Social Justice" in the Christian tradition Those are CARITAS IN VERITATE (Charity in Truth) and to a lesser extent in SPE SALVI (in hope we were saved).
Now I know in this Internet / 24 TV news network world Caritas In Veritate might seem as remote in time as the Council of Nicaea. However as hard as it is to believe it just was released and a year has not even passed. I am not seeing this quoted at all or engaged in this controversy.. What a opportunity. I mean it was the buzz for a month and then I guess American Idol or the Miss USA controversy got us discussing other things.
No matter what your position is in this debate( I shall give mine more fully later) I would hope Catholics would start engaging this in the debates. Again I know our culture makes this all old hat and because we are so deluged with information we often forget important stuff that just happened last year. However I think we can do better.
I know this takes actual reading and thinking and we don't like that because you can't sum up the thing in a soundbite. Still I think it is needed.

"http://www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=936852" Unfortunately, these so-called Catholic hospitals are starting to prove Mr. Beck correct. Social Justice is becoming code word for abortion.
OHIO JOE
I think the problem with Catholic Hosptials is not so much rooted in the concept of "Social Justice" but very much in problem of making money above all
