The Real Catholic Story Behind the Exorcist Movie

Father Joe who is up in the Washington DC has a pretty cool post on the real facts that the movie the Exorcist is based on.

Go see his post AN EXORCISM STORY

I was slightly disappointed that what appears to be an Urban Legend in Louisiana is indeed a Legend. I have heard for years and years that retired Archbishop Phillip Hannan of New Orleans ( He is very much alive , well and kicking by the way at like 95) was one of the priest involved. He is from that area and of course was a biggie in that Archdiocese before coming South. However I do not see his name mentioned in the true "cast of Characters".

On another Louisiana note Speaking of Archbishop Hannan (the school) they made the long long drive from New Orleans to my neck of the woods and played Grambling in Football last night. They very much got their Holy rear ends kicked last night . Talk about a long drive home
