The Advocate has a good Story on this at Tackle Lowe commits to LSU. He is a Brownwood (Texas) offensive tackle that very much recruited Nationwide!! I swear this recruiting class coul dbe the best in LSU history. This young man is the real deal.
Lowe is one of the most athletic offensive tackles in the class of 2009. He has great size at 6 foot six and just under three hundred pounds. The most impressive quality is his athleticism. Great feet; can run exceptionally well for a big man. Even though he has a tendency to slightly drop step, comes off the ball low and hard. Good flat back with piston-like leg drive results in great knock back off the line of scrimmage. Stays low maintaining leverage after contact. Uses hands well but would like to see them get inside defenders frame and lock on a little more. Outstanding job of getting to level two; effective at searching out linebackers. Great effort downfield and after coming off initial block, looks for another defender.
Agility shows in pulling; doesn't miss a stride and turns upfield with good square shoulders. Absolutely a destructive force on the double team. Demonstrates power in the combination block and drives defenders into the laps of the linebackers; only fault is slight tendency to get too angular. Very solid pass protection techniques. Gets back quick even from a "three" point stance. Great body position and power lines. Delivers with the hands while maintaining position, body control and balance. Slightly over-extends at times but is athletic enough to recover. Lowe will be a big time college offensive lineman. Its' rare to find an offensive tackle with so much athletic ability. Exceptional player that has talent and gives great effort. Notes Reportedly benches 345... Squats 485... 26.5 inch vertical. Also recruited by Arkansas, Miami-FL, Tennessee, Arizona, Minnesota, Kansas, West Virginia, Mississippi...
Let me add he was recruited by far more schools than that. Including some of the Texas Giants out there. Both Bama(ha ha) and Auburn thought they could sign him. He also had Offers on the table from Notre Dame and Tennessee was really in the mix

Lowe has some other plans as well.
“I’d also like to see us (LSU) add as many other good recruits as we can,” Lowe stated.
“Russell Shepard is like my brother,” Lowe added. “We always check up on each other and I know he is into the recruiting stuff. I’ve known Russell for a long time and we kind of have that bond too. We are going to try to make this the number one or at least the number two rated recruiting class this year.”
Lowe ended the conversation with a message for all of the LSU fans out there.
“Tell the LSU fans I’m going to do whatever it takes to bring another championship to LSU,” Lowe concluded.

Lowe is the fourth Tiger commitment from the state of Texas which is causing some schools and their fans in Texas some heartburn looking at their boards this afternoon
