Louisiana Catholic Blog Update For July 8 th 2009

The pictures I have up today are from past New Orleans Catholic Newspapers. The First as you can see was In French and ran from 1842 to 1864. The second pic is of a paper called Catholic Action South that ran from 1930 to the time the now Clarion Ledger starting publishing. I do get a kick out some of the fun Sensationalism as you can see in the bottom right hand Corner. READ "DISINTERRING A CORPSE. :) Heck it works makes me want to read it. Perhaps Modern day catholic papers should copy it Pics of the other New Orleans Catholic papers as well as a good history of the New Orleans Catolic Papers that ran can be located here on this page

It is a short Bayou Catholic Blog update today!!

We have a new addition to the Louisiana Catholic Blog links and daily update. That is Da Mihi Animas . He is a Religious priest and thus will move around a lot!! He is a Salesian. I don't know much about this order of Priest and Brothers. I did read yesterday that one of their own is getting a huge Job at the Vatican- CONGRATS.

So it seems proper to give this native Louisiana guy and LSU fan a designation as certified Louisiana Blogger(Ex pat) for LIFE. I will put somewhere on the Louisiana Catholic links. I think in the NOLA Section. Go see his posts Our Lady of Chiquinquirá: The image that healed itself! and Mexicans and Machines: More from Reason TV

Thanks Father. I seem to recall that my little chart showed that while you were visiting last week you were coming in from the Gretna area. I will put you in the New Orleans Catholic section
