Cardinal Roger Mahony's Retirement is Very Close

Ahh this week seems to be getting better and better!!! All that needs to happen is for the New Orleans Saints to win to cap it off.

I hate to talk in a negative sense about Bishops. If one is not careful one can slip into an occasion of sin we go down that path.

However Mahony has been in my view a disaster on many fronts. From the Clergy sex scandal, to Orthodoxy in his Diocese, to Vocations, etc etc. I thought he was a horrible front man to put as the leading spokesman for immigration reform in 2006 and 2007.

May the new Archbishop turn things around there.
