Creative Minority Report goes into this at Obama & Honduras - Politics Not Principle
I am not quite has harsh in my own viewpoint as to Obama's motivations. But I think there is some truth in the above post . The real question to me is how int he World the State Department got it so wrong.
This incident was a major flub by the administration it appears and I think it is being recognized as such. However the Press seems determined not revisit that issue.

He got it all wrong.
The new FM is a close family friend, Dr. Enrique Ortez Colindres.
He is a stuanch anti-communist.
The constitutional order in Honduras has been maintained, the army acted upon an order from the Supreme Court and as per the constitution the head of the natl congress is now President, Roberto Micheletti. (of Zelaya's own party)
There will be an election in November between the two slated candidates, as before this occurence, and in January the new president will be either Elvin Santos or Pepe Lobo Sosa.
