Liberals Dreaming of Having Sex With Obama (New York Times)

This is all so creepy. Judith Warner has This piece up at the New York Times ( Yes the Times Paper of Record of the United States) called Sometimes a President Is Just a President

We also learn that a " lot of people share the fantasy that having the Obamas over for “dinner and a game of Scrabble,” as one daydreamer put it to me, is something that really could just about happen. "

The Corner had a take on this morning:

Two Sides of the Same Sick Coin [Victor Davis Hanson]
If one were to sum up the lunacy of the times, consider two liberal takes on ex-President George Bush and our current President Barack Obama. Currently on Broadway comedian Will Farrell is doing a harsh lampoon of Bush—You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush—that includes a blown-up photo of a penis that Farrell suggests is the President's. Very funny? But then for the flip-side of liberal sexual-presidential politics, cut to the New York Times essay by one Judith Warner, which begins with, "The other night I dreamt of Barack Obama. He was taking a shower right when I needed to get into the bathroom to shave my legs, and then he was being yelled at by my husband, Max, for smoking in the house."
Like Farrell's sophisticated thinking, it has deep imagery like
:
Many women — not too surprisingly — were dreaming about sex with the president. In these dreams, the women replaced Michelle with greater or lesser guilt or, in the case of a 62-year-old woman in North Florida, whose dream was reported to me by her daughter, found a fully above-board solution: “Michelle had divorced Barack because he had become ‘too much of a star.’ He then married my mother, who was oh so proud to be the first lady,” the daughter wrote me.There was some daydreaming too, much of it a collective fantasy about the still-hot Obama marriage. “Barack and Michelle Obama look like they have sex. They look like they like having sex,” a Los Angeles woman wrote to me, summing up the comments of many. “Often. With each other."
As Peter Berkowitz pointed out, the extremist hatred of George Bush is just the other side of the extremist adulation of Barack Obama. And I think both symptoms reflect a deep-seated pathology in an apparently large unhealthy subset of the population.

Now this is just bizarre. I don't know what it more bizarre. That there are it appears tons of people in this Country (you know the smart ones) or that a New York Times writer felt it is was important enough to ever so gently pull a Dr Ruth and tell people that perhaps this is bad.

Update-

Be sure not to miss the comments at the Times. They are a hoot including this one that is getting all Marilyn Monroe and such
great column. I too had a dream about Barack Obama. We were at some sort of luncheon together. He was very friendly and a bit provocative . I may have sat in his lap. It was a little surprising, but he seemed very real and approachable. I guess I’m not alone in my dreaming.— caroline ghertler
