Get Religion has a good story called the The politicization of pancakes where it examines a news story that mentions the Knights as well as others relating to Prop 8..
It is true that the Knights are in the Public Square on a few important issues. Gay Marriage, Abortion/ Pro-Life, and even immigration. But to call them the political arm of the Church is a tad misleading.
The article is interesting because it brings up the point that those that donated for Prop 8 get a of coverage while those that donated to defeat it get far less.
