Yes National Catholic Reporter Still In the Far Looney "Catholic" Left

When I became Catholic the Priests would have copies of National Catholic Reporter all around the student center. There should have been a big label on them (warning - reading this is hazardous to your health).

I did not so so much object to the what some might call progressive politics in the paper. There is room in the Catholic Church for many views. However let us be clear that their coverage of politics was not "fair and balanced". However their continuous assault on the doctrines of the Church given to us the Apostles was another matter. I often pondered that Saint Dorthy Day, whom they lauded all the time, would be infuriated at their disregard for the core essentials of the Church. Somewhere along the line National Catholic Reporter , and its readers, thought that being progressive in politics also meant that one should endorse about every heresy that came down the road.

If it was not for the wonderful Vatican Reporter (John Allen) that actually is fair and does great articles I suspect the paper would be taking a big hit. No doubt many of the hits it gets on its web sites are from Orthodox Catholics that are just reading Allen's articles.

National Catholic Reporter has largely become less revelant (Thank God) because its readership is dying off and they are still stuck in a time warp. For instance on their web site they are still slopping out that Enneagram garbage.

Catholic Journalism and its audience is changing. How does NCR respond. Well by putting a committed leftist in charge that basically bashed the Bishops in a horrible screed over their document "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship."
