One Positive About Hurricane Ike and Gustav For Louisiana

It should greatly reduce the dead zone off the coast where no fish or anything can live.

For those that don't know about the dead zone it is largely caused by nitrogen Rich runoff and assorted fertilizers going into the Mississippi River Up north from farms. As we go into far more more food based fuels this is a HUGE problem. However the same folks that complain about offshore drilling in the gulf generally don't give a big hoot about this issue for some reason.

It is a major environmental and economic problem. Also if feeding the nation is viewed as a National Security issue it is in that category too.

Sadly whatever benefit we get from this will be temporary.
