Louisiana Catholic Blogger Roundup For Nov 9th

Lyon Pointe Catholic Church
Lyons Pointe is located just south of Crowley, Louisiana and just east of Morse. Lyons Pointe is a small community that was established because of it's location, between Kaplan (Vermillion Parish) and Crowley (Acadia Parish). Farmers wanted to have access to both areas. Many families were split between Kaplan and Crowley, so this little community allowed people to be close everyone

Catholic Tube has a few posts and vids up. Go see Almost Catholic Now Almost Atheist, Pope and Saudi King , and this one that is part of the Campaign to Reduce Poverty in America Catholic Charities USA members crossed the rivers to freedom where they rededicated themselves to work on issues of race and poverty.

Please Remember to Keep Dei Gratia again in your prayers. Go see Prayer Request.

Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message has again a wonderful meditation for today at his entry Feast of Saint Alexander (9 Nov 2007). He is talking about why the Catholic Bible is bigger and about praying for the dead.

The Latin Mass Society of Lake Charles has important entry at the post
Reminder . It is about an investiture for the Brown Scapular will be held after the Sunday 2:00 Mass at the Cathedral in the Diocese of Lake Charles

Thy Nose to the Marble. , which is Father's Decker's blog, has a great example of Ecumenical Dialogue, of the highest degree, at the Baton Rouge Barnes & Noble.:) It is under his Nov 8th entry

From The Recamier has a nice post as usual today. Again a must stop. Print out her daily entry and you have "water cooler" Cocktail conversation all night long. Oh and by the way it appears that SHE and the FAM went to Ruth Chris Steak House in Baton Rouge. How nice to be the upper crust :). Ah the rich folks. Oh and learned I troubling fact today from her post . That is Steve McQueen died on this date in 1980. I didn't even knew he was dead. I am a big fan of The Towering Inferno (1978).

Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks (One of our Catholic Louisiana Authors)has a post that we should pay attention too. Who doesn't want to win free stuff. Go see Up-Coming Book Walks

A Number of Things(Our other Louisiana Catholic author) has a related post to the Bookwalk post above at And the Winner is....

And Now we Arrived at Astonished Yet At Home:). He has written a response to a post I did yesterday. That is A Befuddling Rebuttal Rebutted; Or, A Reminder that Jesus W. Christ, R-Nazareth, Is Just Another Anti-Christ We Should Resist! It is quite a striking rebuttal. Well sadly it is misguided :) but it needs a response. Especially the little unfounded "jab" he takes at Huckabee there. Since my Homer Pelicans are away tonight fighting the evil Catholics of St Menard in the State playoffs I shall post a response tonight. Stay tuned. In all seriousness though what Tobias feelings are in that post needs a response. I suspect they are shared by many others. We can't ignore it. After reading his rebuttal check out his other posts. That is Father Dwight Longenecker reminds us of what Christianity is and what it is not. His post Abortion? Gay Marriage? Not Anymore? is a link to a Rod Dreher post. Bush's Failure in Pakistan - And the World is a link to an article by the Pat Buchanan. You can guess where that is going. Oh and another article on Christian Left Leader Calls Out Pat Robertson's Hypocrisy . LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR I AM NO PAT ROBERTSON FAN so perhaps I am absolved of that sin of the Christian right :)

Arrival : The Parousian Weblog has a nice post called The Rupture Between Sexuality and Procreation .

Finally we end with the Brown Pelican Society. Those links and posts are

James, I am so sorry for accusing you of confusing your loyalties to the GOP and your loyalties to the Church. I forgot that you joined the blue crew - I assume you're supporting Governor Richardson in the primaries now.

LOL, Oh no offense taken I enjoyed your post and I shall be responding. I was going to do it last night. Your view is a important one to take into considerationb because it is a view held by many. If Rudy gets the nod there will be a honest discussion on this.

If you are a member of a Christian church anywhere in the western world, you may be aware of the growing threat from within – “Marxist” or Leftist Christianity. No denomination has been left untouched. The threat has been growing for many years but has now reached a critical point!
