A Calvinist Makes the Case for Infant Baptism

I also find it amusing that in the deep South Catholics get all these questions on infant Baptism. WHY IN HEAVENS NAME ARE YOU DOING THAT!!

Yet I never hear some of these same folks complaining that the Methodist and the Presbyterians are doing the same thing down the street.

This blogger , who I think is some sort of Calvinist, makes a interesting case for infant Baptism. See A brief case for infant baptism.

Now of course Catholics and Presbyterians differ on some aspects of this. Still I think on the whole the argument here is one that can be shared.

I had an Episcopal friend that made a great related point one time. That is the transition between circumcision and baptism. What would have been the reaction of all these converting Jews if they were told their children and infants could not be Baptised. The sort of new circumcision. There would likely be an uproar!! In scripture we see allusion to infant baptism and in the writings of the fathers we see it.

There were many controversies among the newly converted Jews to Christianity. The absence of any on the baptism issues again shows to me that infants were being baptized in the apostolic age.

I’ve been doing some serious research about the positioning of buttons in forms in general. And what I’ve come up with is to put the “Primary Action”-button left-aligned with the form. One of the reasons for doing this is that the eye automatically searches for a new form element to the left just under the previous element.
Very good site, brilliant write up.
