A Little Interesting Cultural and Political History here.
Catholics of a Certain Age might be recall the Treasure Chest Comic. Part of it of course dealt with American Catholics in History. That is interesting because there is an interesting dynamic going on here of assimilation that is playing in both the Catholic and non Catholic population This deals with the Battle of New Orleans and it is sort of fun seeing how perhaps as to the black character one might have to portray her differently today for good or for bad Pages of this particular comic story here and commentary via Inside Catholic.
