I am not sure they were under "pressure". Perhaps the Op-Ed writers were concerned that many folks were taking a misinterpretation of what they are saying.

I am not sure what Whisper's point if any, that the Vatican Newspaper had a story on Obama' Cario talk and it was appreciated. It is a newspaper for goodness sake.
