No Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist in New York City

Over at First Things a person now living in New York City expresses some shock that she can find no place that has 24.7 adoration of the Holy Eucharist. See “If We Could Comprehend…”

I have to admit I find that incredible. In the comments one person find one place in Staten Island.

It seems the turnaround of many Parishes and then Dioceses has a lot to do with adoration of the Eucharist. Mass attendance jumps, the lines at confession get longer, the collection plate gets a tad heavier, and yes even vocations increase.

I am sure things like security concerns are being cited but one hears that objection everywhere. It is usually dealt with and I have rarely head of an incident. Further New York City is a 24 hour town. It just seems of all places there is a need for it there. Perhaps some experiments can be done at the Chapels of Catholic hospitals ( they are open anyway). I hope this situation is corrected.
