A Wonderful Photo Montage of the Pope's 83 Years

The Pope was quite a handsome young man when was young. Tip of the hat to Benedetto XVI Forum that posted this.

One of the first heavy "theological" books I tackled was _In Our Likeness: The Church as the Image of the Trinity_ by Miroslav Volf now(?) at Yale. He looks carefully at Orthodox, Catholic ecclesiologies, then offers his own (Protestant) Trinitarian ecclesiology. Take a wild guess which Catholic theologian he chose for his chapter on Catholic ecclesiology.

I emailed Volf with a question about his book. Do you think episcopal/hierarchical church structures are compatible with the Trinitarian ecclesiology you propose? (In other words does a proper Trinitarian ecclesiology allow for priests and bishops?)

To my disappointment got an email from his graduate assistant saying he was on sabbatical but she would pass the question along.

Volf emailed me from an airport on his way back from Croatia.

"Yes".

That is interesting and I never thought of that question as to Ecclesiology and the Trinity. I have never relly delved inot the what the Chruch Fathers had to say on that subject. I wonder if it was ever addressed
