The Southern Baptist Sex Abuse Scandal Hits the London Times

Well at least the book review section. It will be interesting to see what develops here and if people look further into this in the media. See In the London Times!

I am actually going to be engaging the Southern Baptist problem again today on one other front and how that relates to the Catholic Laity. That is are we willing to live under the same standard we are putting the clergy which is one reason I think the Southern Baptist example must be looked at.

Update- It is unfortunate the London Times writer uses the term "hillbilly pilpulism" and appears to have put in a few other not necessary stereotypes.. I think using the term hillbilly does little to shed light on the problem and actually does harm. I am not sure the problem of Sexual Abuse of children is well served by putting some needless stereotypes in the article. The fact is the Southern baptist Church is a very urbane Church in this day and age with college educated people. It is not like 1870 when the Baptist were the rural second class folks while the educated Presbyterians and Episcopalians ran things.
