Why Catholic Confession Behind The Screen Is a Good Idea

Catholics have two options on confession. Face to Face or behind the screen (like you see in the movies). I think that for confessions before Mass or for that matter anytime in Church it should be the model. I noticed this yesterday at Mass. I went to confession and realized there was no chair in front of Father. So I had to go behind the screen. I noted that I got right to the point. Also I did not go off into other matters. I mean look at at GODFATHER II. Michael after not going for decades got it all over in a few minutes :)

Nothing is as annoying when the typical person takes like ten minutes for confession before Mass. The result others can't go because the Priest has to say Mass. There is nothing wrong with a confession that goes into extensive details and gives extensive counseling. However maybe people should make an appointment to do that. Now if it is Confession time outside Mass and it is apparent you are the only one going to be there well that is different.

I completely agree, and the idea of standing and confessing will definitely help get things moving along. Although I have never seen a like outside the confession booth, I do believe that even the priest must feel that it would be a better idea. I don't think that it will have any objection, except for the simple fact that confession booths hold the card of, tradition.
