Jeb Bush On His Catholic Faith (Plus W Ain't Swimming the Tiber)

Oh and appears his brother is fine with being Methodist. FOR NOW :)

So no conversion on the horizon yet. The Deacon Bench has the interesting story and link where Jeb Bush was speaking at Communion and Liberation’s annual Rimini Meeting. I will try to see if a English transcript is available of this.

The Bush Brothers: Jeb says W won't convert

Jeb goes into a lot more than his brother though.

Answering a question put to him after he had delivered a talk strongly critical of big government, Bush said what primarily attracted him to the faith were the “sacraments of the Catholic Church, the timeless nature of the message of the Catholic Church, and the fact that the Catholic Church believes in and acts on absolute truth as its foundational principles and doesn’t move with modern times as my former religion did.”

Update -let me tackle this statement here he makes "“As it relates to making decisions as a public leader, one’s faith should guide you. That’s not to say that every decision I made would be completely in keeping with the teachings of the Catholic Church, but it was a guide post that kept me out of trouble.” I am having a hard time thinking of what Jeb is referencing here. The only issue that I think this could refer too is State Execution. Which as a Catholic in good standing he can his view on. No I don't think it is Terri Schivao!!! Bush really did not have the authority to subvert the Courts and could not (as some wanted) to send the State Police in to stop her death in my view. This is one reason I would like to see a full English transcript.
