CNN Pundit Upset At Black Folks- Stop The Barbecue

I thought this was a interesting story in the Baton Rouge Advocate. See Black Americans said ‘in recess’CNN analyst visits Southern

I have not commented on CNN political analyst Roland Martin very much on this blog. I really don't find his insights on the whole very insightful . I think I posted about him once when he wrote a stupid article about the Catholic Church.

Still he has an interesting point here

CNN political analyst Roland Martin didn’t waste any time Wednesday night shaking up a packed hall at Southern University.
Martin, a radio and television journalist and commentator, said that for the past seven months, black people in this country have really angered him.
“We have been so excited and so happy we have a black president that we’ve had a seven-month picnic, barbecue, Mardi Gras,” Martin said.
He said black Americans have grown complacent while the critics of President Barack Obama have dominated the debate.
“Explain to me how you can have a black congressman hold a town hall in an all-black neighborhood and the audience is all white,” he said
........................

More at the link.

I would be interested in the racial demographics at Congressman Cao's townhall meetings. I went to a town hall with Senator Vitter recently and besides a couple of black politicos there were just two average African Americans. Strange since half my town is black. I saw the same dynamic when Dem Lt Gov Mitch Landrieu came to town. Besides the black State Rep and the black mayor of a nearby town(A PRO-LIFE REPUBLICAN BY THE WAY!! ) it was all white.

I think there are reasons for this. First they are pretty much taken for granted because well African Americans sadly vote in bloc for the Dems. This is not good democracy for several reasons. Also does some of the black political leadership want active black "lay" involvement at some of this stuff? If that happens other people in the community might say I enjoy this maybe I should be in the leadership!! I have seen that dynamic play out too.

ALSO ONE OTHER THOUGHT!!! Maybe just Maybe if they did show up we wouldsee a lot of African American Seniors start to ask questions and start getting concerned. Any rationing is likely to affect them the worse on the whole in many communities. What if rural African Americans learned that their local hospital is likely not to be able to survive if Obamacare goes through. I think in the South's Black belt that would not go over too well. Too bad they are NOT INVOLVED. We prob ally could get the abortion crap out of it.
