I guess I am a conservative heretic on this issue. Pro-Ecclesia points out a column that got some attention. See Dr. Krauthammer Prescribes a Cure for What Ails Health Care .
Call me skeptical. In Louisiana we have some severe caps (IMHO) on damages that can be recovered. We also have a medical review board(that again IMHO) is not exactly plaintiff friendly. Where have been the savings over the decades?
Tort reform is something everyone is for it seems. GET THOSE LAWYERS!!! However in Louisiana when tort reform has been proposed and enacted this proposed savings from auto insurance to other matters never seems to materialize. Not a popular view but I think we see that this occurs in other states too.
