Warning Political Post. I promise today I will keep the Political post limited. Only 2 :) plus a cartoon.
Kevin Tracy has a link to a 18 minute interview that Huckabee gave to CBS. Since I am currently on dial up I have not seen it myself. Kevin gives a overview of it as well as his blunt views on the campaign and what will be happening in the future. He is correct Thompson, despite his folksy appearance, is a tough opponent that realizes politics is not beanbag. However, I am pretty sure Huckabee knows that too.
Not being on the ground in Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina it is dangerous to make a lot of assements so my 2 cents should be taken with a grain of salt. I do detect though that Huckabee is winning the battle with Senator Brownback as to the segment of voters they are going after. That should help with fundraising.
I hope Catholics that are politically aware start to take note of him soon. I shall be doing some post soons as to why he should be the Catholic guy for President.
I also detect some understandable tension between Brownback supporters and Huckabee supporters. That is because our guys and their core supporters share a lot of the same qualities and ideas. Also we want our guy to win. The campaign finesse problems with Sen Brownback that I had concerns about last year are coming into focus. There is no doubt in my mind that we shall win the battle as to him. The key will be that we need to be in a position to pick up those core supporters of his and incorporate them in the campaign right away. Especially that group of very politically active Catholics. We don't want them wandering to Thompson, McCain(who I am not writing off) or Romney. It is a delicate balancing act because we need to respond to the Brownback campaign forcefully when needed.

Thanks for the link. This is actually one of the reasons I'm so frustrated with Huckabee's 2nd quarter fundraising. If Huckabee could have earned 2 million, Brownback might have dropped out after the straw poll. If he raised over 4 million, Brownback would have already dropped out.
After nothing less than stunning debate performances, the campaign (not the candidate) failed to capitalize on the momentum and as a result, Huckabee the candidate will suffer in the straw poll because not enough peons dropped out after 2nd quarter fundraising reports.
Still though, the candidate is simply the best chance we have against Hillary the best chance we have to salvage the Republican Party.
