The Eyes of Texas Are Upon The Vatican -New Archbishop of San Antonio To Be Announced On Thursday!! (Updated)

UPDATE- GO TO THE BOTTOM FOR WHO IT IS

Huge important appointment!!! Rocco has Remember the... Arzobispo

Here is a part:
Early in the week, a quick note on the Inside Page put the word thus: "buzzmill tips naming of new Abp of San Antonio in short order; 3-decade tradition of Hispanic abps said to be kept...."And sure enough, the ground is now rocking in Alamotown -- from various points, multiple sources have indicated that the appointment of Archbishop José Gomez's successor at the helm of the 750,000 Catholics in the nation's seventh-largest city is in the offing, perhaps as soon as Roman Noon tomorrow. Likewise, the three-decade tradition of San Fernando Cathedral as a "Latin" archiepiscopal seat -- a distinction the Riverwalk held alone until April, when it moved with Gomez to the Stateside church's largest outpost, the 5 million-member archdiocese of Los Angeles -- is, indeed, tipped to be preserved.

So with that being said here is a list of Latino Bishops in the USA.

I doubt very seriously that an Auxiliary Bishop would be elevated to an Archbishop's post. So I think we can take those names off the list. FUN TIMES ( update- WHOA IGNORE THIS previous sentence . I FORGOT THAT GOMEZ was an auxiliary Bishop in Denver before becoming Archbishop of San Antonio)

Update!!
Rocco who no doubt knows who the New Archbishop is just said:
by the looks of it, folks, get the rocket gear -- someone's getting launched in a way we haven't seen in quite some time....

Now if that is in reference to the San Antonio post does that mean perhaps a Auxiliary is possible or could it mean the very young Bishop of Brownsville might be it?

Update II-
I should note my personal favorite in my fantasy Archbishop of San Antonio league is the Most Rev Alvaro Corrada del Rio, Bishop of little ole Tyler Texas. WE SHALL SEE!!(Update because of Hints below Bishop of Tyler is out because of age)

Update III-
Rocco has given two other big hints

another tidbit: "Wears pectoral cross on a shoestring the times I saw him...." hint: youngest US abp to be named since Gomez..... Bishop Eduardo Nevares!!!Most Reverend Luis Rafael Zarama, Auxiliary Bishop of AtlantaGusta... Whoa: In Shock Pick, Chicago Aux to "Santone"

On final final note on THIS post. I am taking today's coverage of this big event to a new post on my blog:
Pope Benedict Names Gustavo Garcia-Siller New Archbishop of San Antonio!!! (Updated With New Links)

Daniel Flores, will be 52 which would make him one year younger than Archbishop Gomez when he was named to San Antonio. That seems to relate to the hint of age. Remember that Cardinal O'Connor and Cardinal George were also ordinaries less than a year before being appointed Archbishops

The only thing that makes me hesitant about Daniel Flores is he was JUST NAMED the Bishop of Brownsville which I think the Church sees as a important Diocese in the future for the future. So I am not sure they would leave it vacant it so soon. But you are right it is a up and coming Bishop
