What a great great idea from the Diocese of Little Rock. See at the Deacon's Bench post Positive signs: a new way of promoting vocations
Update-
I note in the comments some are not big fans. I disagree. I think they are missing the point. Signing days are special days for High School kids as they sign to play in various sports at various colleges. I think it is a good concrete recognition of a special occasion. We reconize the kid that will play football or softball. Why not those that are going to discern their vocation to the Priesthood or religious life?
Oh Update II
Please note the DIocese of Little Rock is the entire State of Arkansas. Except the Northwestern part of the State it is not exactly Catholic Central
In the article
"The diocese expects to sign seven more seminarians before classes begin in the fall. Currently, the diocese has 27 seminarians, representing a 44-percent increase in the past four years.Bishop Anthony B. Taylor, vocation director Msgr. Scott Friend, and their pastor Msgr. Francis I. Malone participated in the CHS ceremony."
Why does not America Magazine that ran an OP-ED saying we must repeal the celebacy rule of face disastor mention this Dicoese. What are they doing right?
Catholics as of 2005 numbers account fo 3.9 percent of the population of Arkansas. Again why is "Arkansas" not happening everywhere

Thanks for your positive review of this article. It is great to see the new influx of students into the seminary from our diocese. This year Bishop Taylor has the "happy problem" of finding financing for the seminarians, since the increase in numbers has been so great in these past years. Yes the whole state is the diocese.
