Military Tribunals are Good Again!!!

Shocking!!! Nor Really

Dissenting Justice who is keeping his progressive friends honest has the story at They're Baaack. . . .

Let me say I am for the military tribunals. I have actually, as to the human rights of the detainees. have been much more concerned about this issue than the torture/enhanced interrogation problem.

It is a difficult situation. We must keep the bad guys in but we don't want people that just caught up in something or falsely accused to just be imprisoned forever. Even for the bad guys some Justice requires that at some point their case must be resolved. That is the Government has got to cut or fish bait.

Now in reality what has always gotten me about this issue is this has little to do with the detainees. You have three groups

Faction (1)Real Human Right advocates and Civil libertarians that actually do care (the smallest group)
Faction (2)The Bush hating , anti GOP, anti Iraq war, anti war on terror left that spouts off (they are the largest) chants of Writ of habeas corpus like it is a magic spell
and
Faction (3) People and part of Government that are upset they are not involved

Faction 2 often supports different people and groups in faction 3 at different thinking they are making progress. Usually the progress was seen as BUSH FOILED AGAIN

But now what after the third time of the Congress yelling, the Court yelling , the dems yelling all these procedures well look about the same.

The only result is that the detainees (you know it is all about them) just seem to have their trial delayed and spend more time jail for some cosmetic changes. This seems to be a constant merry go round weare on.

Obama perhaps thankfully will be the last part of the chain. He can get out the democrat holy water and perform a Bush exorcism of the Tribunals by twinking it here and there and that Will make enough people in faction 2 and faction 3 happy they did something for the detainees and Justice . Thought in reality it is pretty much the same
