The Funeral of the Last Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungry

I have never heard this very charming story.

At the end of the war, Empress Zita, who was then living in Quebec with her children, came to the convent where I was a pupil (in Sherbrooke, Quebec) with her son Archduke Rudolf. She struck me as being very simple and affable, and very devout (I was just behind her at the Mass in the convent chapel). Upon leaving the convent, she graciously complied with the requests of the students who were taken photographs - going up one step, moving a little to the right, or the left, etc. I learned later that she was quite an amateur photographer, so she must have felt some kinship with the girls.
