The Man That "God Damned" the United States

Well this seems apt with all that is the news. Darwin Catholic has a great post and link to a story that first appeared in the Atlantic Magazine in 1863. It appears that it is still read in High Schools but sadly mine was not one of them. I thought it was as Darwin said not only at patriotic but also deeply humane .

A good story to have your kids to read. As he pointed out the timing of this story of course was when were not going exactly great here in the USA. Anyway go see The Man Without a Country
