LSU Football Spring Practice Day 1 Roundup

A couple of sports related posts to start out the morning . The above photo was from Thursday when the Tigers went to the Governor's mansion. There is a nice photo gallery of this event here I checked the mail this morning and still did not see my invite to the White House when the Tigers go there in April. I have no idea what the hold up is :).

This post deals with LSU Spring Football Practice. LSU starts football workouts is an Advocate article. There are several players that comment on the Ryan Perrilloux situation in that piece. LSU quickly steps back into practice groove the Gannett article by Guilbeau. LSU begins spring practice is the WBRZ Sports Vid that was the TV lst night. The Picayune has LSU kicks off spring practice. LSU Sports net has their story here

Of other important interest is this article Tigers assistant interviews with Broncos That involved wide receivers coach D.J. McCarthy . Don't worry he didn't get hired :) However I suspect that we shall him become a hot commodity as the years go along. Also in that article there is some more LSU News. Including this part about are guys that play Football and something else are doing:

MULTIPLE ATHLETES: Wide receiver Jared Mitchell and safety Chad Jones are not the only LSU football players who participate in other sports. While those two will be splitting time with the baseball team during spring drills, LSU kick returner/tailback Trindon Holliday and defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois will be competing on the LSU track team.Holliday is one of the best sprinters in the nation and could qualify for the next Olympic Games. Jean-Francois throws the shot put for the Tigers.

Neither opened spring football practice with the Tigers Friday.Holliday is not expected to play much football at all this spring, Miles said, while Jean-Francois will be splitting time.Wide receiver Demetrius Byrd will also compete in track this season, but not until after spring football. Mitchell and Jones missed LSU's baseball game with Duquesne Friday night and will also miss today's and Sunday's games because of football.
