Does Mitt Romney Dropping Out Create Opportunity for Huckabee In Louisiana?

Well all the TV stations are reporting Mitt is dropping out. Or to more precise "suspending" his campaign.

I am going to talking about Mitt Romney over the next few days. Including a few posts on his run and the whole "Mormon" question. I hit part I of that here. As you can see people disagree with with me. Including the very good blogger Called as Seen in the comment section.

I will be hitting that question as well as other facets of his campaign and what went wrong the next few days.

I have not been very hopeful for Mike "winning" Louisiana. First because I don't think many Republicans realize there is a primary this Saturday. The fact we held a Caucus a couple of weeks back has confused some people. A Caucus that Huckabee did not particpate in or devote resources. Something that I thought was a critical mistake.

The long and short of it is that the delegates selected at the GOP Caucus after much manuvering are McCain delgates. In order to get delegate now Mike has to win 50.1 percent on election night. With Romney in the race I though this very unlikely!!!! Now perhaps there is a chance.

Will Romney people stay home?
Will they go to the polls anyway?

Who knows? But there is an opportunity here and Mike Huckabee would do well to get down here ASAP like right now and campaign non stop all day Friday. Including getting on every local tv station. There is an opportunity here and I suspect the Huckabee campaign will be making decision whether it is worth canaceling Firday events to take the risk.

Hi Jim,

You've probably heard that Dobson is endorsing Huckabee. Did you also hear about this?
Republican Pro-Aborts for McCain

Do you think Sam Brownback will change his endorsement to Huckabee now?
