I thought this would of interest to the perhaps 4 or 5 reader I have that have an deep interest in the Church Fathers. The Way of the Fathers blog had an interesting post here at By Decree .
He writes:
Roger Pearse has posted an English translation of the Gelasian decree, a document of (perhaps) the fifth or sixth century, and one of the early attempts to specify who’s a Church Father and who’s not. Scroll down to Roman numeral IV.
Now the document is very interesting and goes into a lot of other things. So it is all worth a read. However the part about the Church Fathers is really fun to read
