LSU You Tube Memories(EarthQuake Game) and LSU News For August 9th

This is a great LSU You Tube Memory. Yes It is the final Drive of LSU in the Famous EARTHQUAKE Game against Auburn. It is called the Earthquake game because when LSU scored the Crowd reaction was so great that it registered on the Seismograph.

LSU News-
I was on the LSU boards and noted that some of the sports Journalist coming in to make Comments. One TV guy out of Baton Rouge noted that Les Miles is very much more relaxed this year and having more fun. For instance he was out there playing catch with his boy. I think that is good for Les, Good for the team, and Good for LSU. WJBO has a podcast/streaming audio of the media psot cast interview he did yesterday and one can tell a change in Miles. Also note on that page is a interview with LSU RB Richard Murphy.

The Tiger Stop Blog has his top ten freshman so far as to LSU. He mentions Stevan Ridley out of Natchez. I am really rooting for that kid and I hope he does well. I also think that if does well we might in the future take a closer look at that private school league he was in. In Louisiana this was the old "LISA" schools system. This now three state school has some talent in it that gets overlooked. I am doing this post in the WEE Hours of the Thursday Morning since the papers are out so check back to his blog for more post today.

Dandy Don has a good report from yesterdays practice. I suspect he will update again this morning if he can. However his sister in law is dying and he is not sure. He really request your prayers. Dany Don says Perrilloux is looking really good and we might need to redshirt Jarret. A great post on yesterdays practice check it out.

First a Story that will be of interest too all LSU fans and Tech fans too is on the new OC Gary"THe Wizard" Crowton. The story is entitled Crowton’s philosophy fits Tigers offense well.

The Former Louisiana Tech quarterback star Tim Rattay is quoted in the article. He states:

The thing about coach Crowton is that he always has something up his sleeve, some kind of different wrinkle that nobody’s seen before,” said former Louisiana Tech quarterback Tim Rattay, now a journeyman backup in the NFL. Rattay, who owns most Tech passing records, is Crowton’s most famous protégé.
“When you combine the kind of offensive mind he has with the kind of talent they have at LSU, it’s going to be an explosive offense that fans are going to love to watch
.”

The whole article is a good read.
By the way while we are on the topic of Crowton I saw this interesting thread about Jimbo Fisher. Crowton is of course replacing Jimbo after he landed at FLorida State. It appears from people that have heard him talk recently in the media that the talent situation is not as great as LSU. I expect that will change once Fisher gets his people in. He will be a great head coach in the next cuple of years when that comes open.

Leaving Football for a sec here is a good article on LSU golfer Brian Bateman that won the Buick open last month.

The New Orleans Picayune has this article LSU makes it through first practice unscathed.

Glen Gulibeau (Gannett Papers) has his article LSU notes: Miles searching for offensive linemen. Basically it appears some Freshmen have a chance to really contribute.

That is it for the LSU roundup. Look for a Louisiana Tech Roundup in a bit
