The Louisiana Catholic Blogger Round Up for August 20h

Time to to look at what the Louisiana Catholic Bloggers are saying.

First our Louisiana History facts for the day for August 20th.
On this day in 1853 it was "Black Day" 269 people died in New Orleans of Yellow Fever.

On to the blogs. This is actually a short update. I am doing this around 9:30 a.m. so some have not updated yet

For The Greater Glory has some post. up this morning. It appears that he and I were looking at the same posts yesterday over at Vox Nova. This deals with 2 post on Catholics and War that also interacted with yesterdays readings at Sunday Mass. There seemed to be a constant theme in much of the Catholic blog sphere that is of the progressive leanings to take this part of Jeremiah as some "radical" anti war and pacifism message. One commentator said it was a radical reading. True, the scriptures are all radical. However after reading all of the episode in Jeremiah , I cannot see what they wish to get out of it. Anyway go to Aragorn's piece for more. Aragorn also has this post up on the Catholic family. Yes we have even more anti Catholicism in a new movie- Surprise!!!! He has the information what movies that is here.

I ma going to continue to put up this post by Full Circle during the week. If you are in the Baton Rouge Area Full Circle will be part of a panel that will be discussing his conversion to Catholicism this Thursday.

The Brown Pelican Society again has a lot of posts up . Go by and check them out. Since we have talked about movies and Catholicism already this morning. Check out one of the post he did this morning that shows the top 100 Movies that referenced Catholicism. By the way I don't understand why the The Agony and the Ecstasy (1965) * is labeled as having Adult Content.

Moving to the Diocese of Lafayette we see From the Recaimer has another post up. She mentions of course the Saint of the Day and some history as a part of her daily post. It is one I an mot very familiar with , but it seems apt he is the Saint for today after looking at our Louisiana fact for the day. She has a lot of historical facts today. She also mentions some major politico who might just be living again in a Big White House has his birthday today. I think I will pass on sending a card. Anyway check her out. She has a lot more fun stuff in her post.

Footprints on the Fridge goes into Charolette Manson method of Home Schooling and how you combine Catholicism with it. So check out her entry Keeping it Catholic.

Last but not Least is Catholic Tube. He as a new Catholic vid up. Here is a vid of Fr. Fessio on the Motu Proprio.
