For those that follow these troubles in the American Anglican communion Drell's Descants is a the place to go.
Even though I am not Episcopal I find all this tragic and Catholics need to be paying attention. Even if that is because we need to be there to welcome those that want to come to the Catholic Church. Drell is quite active in the Episcopal Church and is in a Louisiana Diocese where his Bishop is taking a importantWorld wide role.
I do find the news coverage of all these quite lacking and that surprises me. We are in situation where many of a Diocese could leave the US branch of the Anglican communion and make new associations. In Louisiana this lack of coverage is even more amazing because of the history and influence of this "Church". Bishop Polk- The Fighting Bishop of the Civil War anyone? He performed the first Church Service in Shreveport and help found many of a Church of this communion in the area.
Drell has two post of interest. First are two posts by Cheryl H. White, Ph.D. i a professor of history at Louisiana State University in Shreveport and who is chair of the Diocesan Commission on Christian Education. Those post are located here and here. He also has a report on the reconcillation meeting in Shreveport that is interesting.
