It would be wonderful if the Roman Catholics would put as much effort into the prevention of sexual abuse of children by Priests, as the effort they are putting into public relations, trying to get people to consider that any publication that sheds light on the sexual abuse of children, and the cover-up of same, are doing a "hatchet job". This reminds me of Jim & Tammy Bakker, back in the 1980's, claiming they had done nothing wrong, and the Charlotte Observer was persecuting them for serving God and building a vacation haven for Christians.

Realist, the CC has put a lot of effort into the prevention of abuse, at least on the parish and school level. Parishioners, and parents, working with children are required to take an abuse prevention course every two years. I am confident that safety has been diligently addressed in my parish. I think our failing is in not demanding that those involved in the transfer of these priests are not themselves dismissed. I really don't care when the crimes took place, it was a sin to hide or ignore such evil.

ink what Roamn Cathoics are objecting too in this case is the bad reporting. This is nothing like the reporting the Boston Globe did or for fact both liberal and conservative Catholic publications. This is kust plain misleading and how is justice served by that
