What a empty feeling days like this are for LSU baseball fans.
However I am willing to bet most LSU Baseball fans knew when they woke up yesterday morning it was going to be the last day of the 2010 season. I know I did after the UCLA game. I suspect Irvine fans might have had that same feeling as to their team which made this game very symbolic.
I had some hopes of beating Irvine again to have a rematch against UCLA later that night. However even as to that I had a feeling because of our history with the Irvine team a just God would not allow that to happen to the Anteaters on pretty much their home turf. God or Karma if you wish would intervene and not in LSU's favor.
It was close but LSU lost 4 to 3.
It was a good season but has not stopped the usual idiots on LSU message boards demanding sacrificial lambs. Day like this make me question if message boards are a net positive or net negative as we see the small minority of nahoobs of negative thought do post after post. LSU does not have a God Given right to get to Omaha every year and with College Baseball getting better and better that is just how it is . Plus if you have not noticed out in the gulf we have much bigger things to worry about that might be the nail in the coffin for Louisiana in some ways.
On the bright side for non LSU fans that visit my blog there will be a lot less LSU sports for a few months and more of my traditional topics. The fun LSU sports ride is over for a while. Next up Football.
