What is A Conservative?

What gives me more angst. Liberals telling folks who are conservatives and who not? Or is various conservatives strains doing the same thing. In my case it is the latter.

However there was a post that engaged the comments of a lets say a more "Liberal" Catholic on this subject at American Catholic. See Humpty Dumpty Defines Conservatism.
