In looking at the upcoming LSU Football season, I have always said Coach Bo Pelini will be a tough Coach to replace. It will be a while until LSU fans know what a vital part he played in our success. One thing struck me from reading news reports about him was The LSU players LOVED Bo and loved playing for him. When he got the Nebraska job the thought of him not coming back to Coach the National Championship game was unthinkable. Bo also loved his players. When any player had a personal problem with a GF, or family, or whatever Bo was one they often went too. He loved them for more than just being football players.We also see that he is a big family man as wee in this article last year:

But to Bo Pelini, that game is no more important than the one he's at now – mainly because his son, Patrick, is among the players trying to kick the ball into the net.
"It's fun watching your kids grow up," Pelini, who also has two daughters, says later. "Baseball, t-ball, gymnastics, ballet. I try not to miss anything."
LSU's defensive coordinator pauses for a moment and grins.
"But," Pelini says, "I do think a few people get freaked out when they see me standing on the soccer field the morning of such a big game.

It is a good interview and he talks about his faith and how he was raised, Note he did this event right before their big Spring Game. His father's influence was huge. Toward the end of this 10 minute you tube vid he talks about how his father quit his job because the company he worked for was marketing a abortion related drug and how that taught him a important lesson.
