Update- I have posted the Vid of Matt Clark's Homerun here at LSU's Matt Clark's Home Run Against Kentucky You Tube Vid!!!
Just a couple of weeks ago a lot of folks was counting the team out after the Georgia series. The Nega Tigers were starting to come out in full force. They have been quieted now.
Skip Bertman after looking at the stats about a month ago said the team was just so close to getting it. Now they are really hitting it on all counts. It has been something to see the lightbulbgo off as to this team and how they are fighters. They know they can win!!! This young team had now late in the season become one of the hottest teams in the SEC.
This past weekend's series at Kentucky was magical. Not only because we saw LSU do back to back sweeps against a opponent in the SEC, something not seen since 1998, but because we saw that fight. Nothing showed that more in yesterdays incredible game. I almost feel sorry for Kentucky.
The Baton Rouge Advocate has the best articles go see LSU sweeps Ky., grabs West lead. Needless to say LSU is peaking at the right time as we are in a battle with every other team in the SEC West to get the SEC Tournament.I have never seen anything like it. Here is the latest SEC Baseball Report. LSU sports net has a nice write up with a ton of stuff in it at Baseball Completes Sweep of UK, 9-8; Leads SEC West
As to the Kentucky Game , I recommend looking at the entries of the Advocate Baseball blog the last few days for more story and color. Of particular interest from yesterday are Did charter flight win it for LSU?(my answer is yes) , and Deja Blue.
It will be a sad week. The last game in the baseball stadium is happening this week. I gave serious thought of trying to make the trip down to see the last game in it. It has some nice memories for me when I was LSU for those three years. Go see Alex Box game crew looks back
