Understanding the Latin Mass(Novus Ordo)

I bought this at our local Catholic Bookstore recently. I highly recommend it. The Audio CD is very straight forward and is very helpful. I decided if the older is going to affect the newer I better start doing my part.

There is a funny quote in the introdution by Famous Father William Most. That is "Even little Roman morons could speal Latin!" It would be nice if a day comes that certain parts of the Mass are always said in Latin which I think was the original intention.

Anyway good investment. I think anyone one from middle school to 99 years of age would find this an easy resource to use. I have attempted to pick up Latin grammer books before. I think after about 6 months of practice with this bood and the CD I might be ready for that. I was never very good at Phonics in school and pretty much rebelled. So it becomes more important for me to actually hear the words. Like I said the CD is a God send.

I do wish the web page gave a tad more of a hint how this book is organized. The book hits Ordinary of the Mass and all four Eucharistic Prayers.

It has a vocabulary section and also a nice section in the back that is a intro to reading Gregorian Chant. If I , ,that no doubt is in the little Roman Idiot group, can use and benefit from this then I have to think most people could really go to town on it.

Update I find out a tad about the Author
