Louisiana Catholic Blog Roundup For August 4th

Dei Gratia has another Code of Canon Law for us to look at. He also has a post on My Thoughts on the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.

The Brown Pelican Society that is so dedicated that he gets up at Five am to post a much of important stroties, links, and meditations has a slew of stuff up.

For The Greater Glory has just returned from DC rentently and notes my posts I am planning to Do on America, being an American, and how all that relates to being a Catholic. As I noted in his comments I hope to start doing that tomorrow or Monday. He also hits on the the Huckabee Catholic Controversy and also the Edward Catholic controversy. He is intereating with another Louisiana bloggers post showing some concerns which I mention next.

Astonished, Yet at Home! has two post relating to the Huckabee/Catholic Controversy here and the latest here. I mention yeaterday in her comment section I would get him more info. I intend to that. I think today in my spare time I am going to work on a post as to that issue and also Huckabee as a whole and the Catholic vote. Let me give my two cents. I think we are seeing two campaigns getting antsy a tad. I have no doubt that Brownback nor Huckabee are not goof men. I was not able to attend the Brownback event in Baton Rouge but I think several people associated with the LSU Parousians were able too. At least I recall that for some reason. My goodness Brownback spent time in a jail cell(voluntary) the night before in Angola as he ministered to prisoners. Huckabee also is a good man. In politics the gossip , the rumors, that are fueled by a thousand supporters cannot always be contained. The tone of Huckabee's response in many ways I think has to do with him getting tired of all the sterotypical religious questions being asked of him. Of course this sort of thing makes us all nervous because of the realreligious question in the room as to Romney. A area that should not be gone into by any Canidiate in my opinion. More later.

Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan from the Diocese of Alexandria has a great post and link to what the latin mass sounds like on his Friday August 3rd entry.

Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks has a nice post called Playing House.

Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message had a great post yesterday for the Feast of Saint Lydia (3 August). His post though does not deal alot with Saint Lydia but with some good thoughts as to Baptism, what is Supernatural, and other things to mediate on/

Father Decker from the Diocese of Baton Rouge has not updated since July 21'st. He is newly ordained and probally is feeling a little overwhelmed lol . Perhaps someone could email him to encourage him to say hi again on his blog :).
