Get thee to a Confessional

Radical Catholic Mom's post over at Vox Nova really spoke to me this morning. It is called Get Thee to a Confessional! Lots of good stuff there. By the way if you missed this past Holy Day of Obligation GET THEE TO A CONFESSIONAL today before Mass. If your are in big city look in the yellow pages and call them up. They have the times on the phone book. I am going to try to start a monthly confession practice even for those venial sins. It is a good post. I think even the best of us Catholics that try to live a faithful life often rationalize our sins away. I great thing about the confessional is that you can't do that. I also think Confession lines are like a good sort of virus. That is people see them and often start thinking about confessing and the sacrament. I ahve seen that occur in a particular church in Shreveport

  1. I did not go to confession this past Holy Day of Obligation (Aug 15th, the Assumption) because I go as part of my First Saturday devotions each month, as requested (or suggested) by Our Lady to Lucia of Fatima. Here is a link to what Our Lady said: http://www.nd.edu/~mary/classic/firstsat.html

This is relatively easy to do, especially if you go to the Saturday Anticipated Mass; most Catholic churches have confessions for half an hour before Mass.

And you have my permission to throw this up on the main page of your blog, if you wish. ; )
