I am have been thinking of saying a few words on the . Benedict Groeschel controversy but as of yet never got around too it. I wanted to link it to another Christian that has of late some said some "interesting things".
However in the Catholic media there is a big controversy at the EWTN owned National Catholic Register over the firing of a writer /editor over what it appears is the printing of the the interview.

I have to agree if he was fired for just printing it we might have a problem. United States Catholics are very much in need of something comparable of the evangelical Chrisitianity Today in the USA. If this is what happened it does not help that goal
Anybody heard the phrase "What Would Jesus Do"?
ReplyDelete- think He'd fire the guy who told the truth about what Fr Groeschel said?
- think He'd expose the philosophy of Groeschel (which was Groeschel's honest life-long opinion, despite excuses, apologies, and backtracking by Catholic apologists)?
- think He'd hide child rape by demonic forces in the Catholic church?
- think He'd help the bishops that hid the child rapists?
I think Jesus would do EVERYTHING to try to help the victims. Catholics all think I'm crazy, and would fight me all day long about it.
I am going to get more in Groeschel comments a bit later I think.
ReplyDeleteFOr the record I don't think Groeschel has tried to hide rape or has a lifelong viewpoint that this is no big deal. I think he is trying to point out deifference between rape of children pedophillia and sex with older teenagers.
I SUSPECT that a lot has to deal with Fr Groschel advance age and perhaps some clues he is is losing it a tad. Again I am going to elaborate on this later I think to get my thoughts clearer.
