Update- Thanks to a Lazy Disciple who corrected by "Daily Audience" confusion. I do swear thoguth that the Vatican had last weeks audience for some reason in the June 15th slot of some reason for part if yesterday. Now that confusion is finished we can get too the meat of the post.
Zenit news agency has today:
“I welcome the members of the Catholic-Pentecostal International Dialogue and I offer prayerful good wishes for the next phase of their work. I also welcome the Fiftieth Conference of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration, now meeting in Rome. I thank the choirs, and particularly the University Choir from Indonesia, for their praise of God in song. Finally, I greet the delegates to the General Chapter of the Congregation of the Resurrection. Upon all the English-speaking pilgrims, especially those from the Philippines, Canada and the United States, I invoke the Lord’s blessings of joy and peace.
Well that is cool the Pentecostals are at the Vatican. . Especially viewing this interesting Vatican Radio piece one can listen too on Vatican Radio via the that link. It starts out:
How much do you know about the Pentecostal movement? What beliefs and practices do they share in common with the Catholic Church? Despite plenty of mistrust and conflict over aggressive proselytizing in traditionally Catholic countries, did you know that Catholics and Pentecostals have been working together in an international dialogue for almost forty years?
Philippa Hitchen discovered more about that dialogue and the role that charismatic communities can play as a bridge between the two denominations when she went along to a meeting taking place here in Rome this week. This first meeting of the sixth phase of the dialogue took place from June 10th to 16th, including shared participation in the Papal Mass for Pentecost and the Wednesday General Audience in the Vatican.
Hear Philippa’s interview with the two co-chairs of the dialogue – Catholic Bishop Michael Burbidge from Raleigh, North Carolina and Dr Cecil ‘Mel’ Robeck, an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and professor of Church history and Ecumenics at the Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena California..
