As a lawyer, I have this deep desire to go get my Canon Law degree and "Do canon law..." unfortunately, the priests get all the "good jobs" and most law canonists work on Diocesan marriage tribunals.

I so agree. Yeah I mean as a lay person it seems that work opportunities are limited unless you are able to supplement it by University work which again there is a limited market for that.
